Partial substitution of dead burnt magnesia (M) with fly ash (F) produces a delay of the setting time, in correlation with borax dosage. The use of DKP instead of MKP has a significant influence on the setting time. For M_DKP_B3.3, one can observe an important increase of the setting time as compared with M_MKP_B3.3 (table 3).
The results show that as the temperature increases, the initial and final setting times decrease for all types of concrete, with fly-ash concrete having the longest setting times.
This study focusses on upgrading the fresh and hardened properties of fly ash-based geopolymer mix samples such as initial and final setting time, flow table test and compressive strength with the substitution of ground granulated blast furnace slag at varied percentage levels and with different alkali binder ratios. 3. INTRODUCTION Fly ash concrete is an eco-friendly construction material in which fly ash replaces a part of Portland cement. But IS:456 – 2000 and ACI:318 allows replacement of OPC by Fly ash up to 35% only as binding material. High volume fly ash concrete is a concrete where a replacement of about 35% or more of cement is made with …

In this paper, setting time, strength and bond of high-calcium fly ash geopolymer concrete were investigated. The high-calcium fly ash was from Mae Moh power plant in northern Thailand.
KEYWORDS: setting time, Proctor penetration, fly ash, slag, curing temperature, regression analysis According to Neville (1981), the setting of Type I cement paste
FBC fly ash seems to delay the setting time of blended cement pastes when tested at normal consistency. However, isothermal calorimetry tests conducted at equal w/cm show less retardation in cement hydration. The slight retardation observed is due to the delay in the dissolution of C 3 S likely caused by the change in sulfate balance of the ...
Different concrete mixes of fly ash based geopolymer concrete were designed to study the effect of adding portland cement, alkaline solution resting time, curing temperature and curing period on the workability, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, absorption and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA).

Using Test Method for Time of Setting of Concrete Mixtures Paste by Penetration Resistance (ASTM C 403), Proctor penetration resistance was determined under isothermal curing temperatures ranging from 6 to 80°C for concretes containing up to 50% of fly ash or ground-granulated blast-furnace slag.
Fly Ash Geopolymer Concrete Pattanapong Topark-Ngarm1; Prinya Chindaprasirt2; and Vanchai Sata3 ... The results indicated that fresh geopolymer concrete had short setting time of 28–58 min due to the presence of high calcium content of fly ash. In general, strengths and modulus of elasticity increased with the increase in NaOH concentration. ...
cement Fig 5. Setting times vs fly ash content in the paste with C3 cement The setting times of cement paste with fly ash were determined using Vicat needle, according to PN-EN 196-3: 1996 [18]. As it is shown in Figs 3, 4, 5, the set-ting times are prolonged, a little in the case of C1 and C2 cement and significantly in case of C3 cement, with ...
setting time and workability. It was found that an increase in the PG wt% led to a decrease and/or acceleration in the initial setting time (INSET) and final setting time (FINSET) attributed to the rapid dissolution of Ca. 2+ in low alkaline concentrations outnumbering that of Al. 3+ and Si. 4+

Portland cement addition, fly ash content and solution resting time were studied.. The study focused on curing temperature and curing period. • Performance and mechanical properties of GPC were evaluated for all factors.. Portland cement addition up to 15% improves GPC properties except workability.. Solution resting time for 30 min yields higher performance.
