Registration for the Orecrusher cross-country bike race opens March 6. The race, which features a lemans-style start and multi-lap course through Brackendale's Cheekeye Fan singletrack trails, is a fundraiser for Don Ross Secondary School's Outdoor Leadership Program.

I t's the unofficial kickoff of the mountain bike season in Squamish. The first race in the Test of Metal group of events hits the trails of Brackendale on May 9, when the eighth annual Orecrusher returns. Last year saw a total of 277 riders compete.
