Disintegrating New Aggregate Driveway

It appears that it is disintegrating when it rains. Especially, in low spots where the water accumulates. Also, the seams are breaking down too.

Repairing exposed aggregate steps

Hi. New to the forum. Our front door step which is made of exposed aggregate has developed a full length crack and at one end is starting to see some larger pieces of concrete chipping away. Having done a number of searches on the internet, I think I have a rough idea of how to fix exposed aggregate if it was on a horizontal surface.. Not sure ...

Exposed aggregate advice....

Spray with reducer, cover with plastic, come back next day and spray with water hose. Easy as pie. GL. Our back deck is exposed aggragate, it is very rough and you cant even walk on it because it is so rough, we want to smooth it out someway.

White spots on newly poured driveway

10718 posts · Joined 2006. #10 · Jun 4, 2014. The white spots are large pieces of aggregate that aren't holding as much moisture as the mix is holding. Give it time it will all match up in a few weeks depending on your weather. The aggregate is kind close to the surface but it isn't going anywhere.

Bad exposed aggregate job?

45 posts · Joined 2018. #5 · Mar 20, 2018. Add my two cents, I worked with my cousin, a stone mason, for a couple of summers as a concrete laborer, acid washed a lot of aggregate walkways and patios. For one, it looks like way too much aggregate to be set properly in the concrete. In my option a bad job.

Bud Cline. 10718 posts · Joined 2006. #2 · Dec 8, 2011. Go for it. You can use a circular saw with an abrasive masonry blade but using a wet-diamond blade would give you a cleaner and faster cut. Just run a little water on the cut as you proceed. Don't get in a hurry and don't scorch the blade if you use a diamond blade. XXX .

Exposed aggregate--inconsistent surface--advice?

Drilling Exposed Aggregate?

With all due respect to itsreal,a Jocobs chuck is nothing more than a brand name for a drill chuck.They hold the bit.Has nothing to do with the drill slipping off of exposed aggregate. You need a flat spot to start drilling or a indent to keep the drill bit from slipping. A center punch and hammer will give you this.
